Frances EUBANK

FRANCIS L. EUBANK was born November 15, 1826, in Monroe County, Ky. When a small boy he removed with his parents to a farm about ten miles south of his former home, from when he removed to Rome, Tenn., where he spent about two years, after which he returned to Monroe County, near the site of the present village of Flippin; afterward moved to Barren County, from which place he moved to Tennessee, and in 1864 returned to Barren County and located on the site of his present home, where he has since resided. His father, John Eubank, was born in Virginia, on the James River, about 1790, and was a soldier under Gen. Jackson in the war of 1812, and was present at the famous battle of New Orleans. John was a son of John Eubank, who was a native of Albemarle County, Va. John Eubank, Jr. (the father of Francis L.) married about 1812, Sarah Parret, of Culpeper County, Va. They had nine children, of whom Francis L. is
the seventh. The latter married, September 26, 1855, Mrs. Nancy(Comer)
Harlan, daughter of Mastin and Susan (Pinckley) Comer. From thisunion
sprang one daughter - Sarah A. Mr. Eubank started without assistancein
the race of life, but by industry and frugality he has become theowner
of over 3,500 acres, besides a store containing a well selected stockof
marketable goods, aggregating in value of about $3,000, in addition to
which he assisted in paying about $1,000 in security debts. He is a
member of the Christian Church; a thoroughly self-made man, and in
politics a stanch Democrat.
